Finally. Good news for Neymar
Brazilian star Nima Rada Silva is trying hard to leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer but all his attempts so far have reached a dead end, but away from the transfer market Neymar has finally received the good news of dropping the case against him on the grounds of rape.
The Public Prosecutor's Office in the Brazilian city of São Paulo confirmed that the investigation into the case had been suspended, but that the complaint would be sent to the plaintiffs in court until they issued a final decision.
The investigation was opened after Brazilian supermodel Nagilla Trundi alleged that the footballer sexually assaulted her inside a hotel in the French capital in May.
For his part, the Paris Saint-Germain player denied that he had assaulted the model, and explained that he was deceived and blackmailed.
Meanwhile, a spokesman for the Brazilian player said he was unable to make a statement on the decision.
The case was first raised in June and turned into a sensation in Brazil, especially after Neymar posted a video showing him with the model in one room at the hotel.
The clip showed that the two voluntarily entered the room, and Neymar posted a conversation with the model, until it was proved that the relationship was consensual and did not take place in the context of rape.
Although Neymar was able to distance himself from the suspicion of rape, he found himself embroiled in a defamation case because of the private conversations he had published.
According to Brazilian law, prosecutors in the court must make a final decision on the complaint in no more than 15 days.
